Our Classroom

As lovers of curated spaces, our goal with Lilyposa Schoolhouse is to create an environment where children not only have access to high quality toys and activities but also set up a clean, uncluttered yet engaging environment.  While we try to display as many natural toys as possible we are no stranger to plastic toys as it relates to a theme or a topic that we are working on.

Our indoor space has plenty of areas for independent drawing and reading, dramatic play and an open area for circle time.  We have intentionally placed plants around the space to allow children to learn about caring for the natural environment.  Our classroom is designed to allow children to engage in learning self help skills.  Our bookshelves are low and accessible and we only place out a limited amount of toys at a time to avoid overwhelming children.  We have a sensory table space which is consistently refreshed and coordinated to our thematic curriculum.

We try to balance time spent indoors and outdoors and are lucky to have a covered patio space which allows us to be more flexible with outdoor activities regardless of weather.  We also have a large lawn space where children can feel free to explore and get their hands dirty with gardening and get their wiggles out!

We are excited to see how our space changes as it grows with feedback from our children and families.
